Look at either 1010tires.com or tirerack.com.

The recommended tire size for this car is a 205-55/16. You can go up or
down a size (215-50/16 or so) but to stray too far from the recomm. tire
size is asking for trouble.

That car should have had alloys. Does he have the OEM wheels? If not, I'd
get them from whom he bought the car.

How much did he pay for it?
