McCain is not responsible for what his supporters say.

In addition, saying that we have nothing to fear with Obama in power
is not the same thing as endorsing him.

One can say we have nothing to fear with a certain situation, but that
doesn't mean that it is a good situation. For example, we have nothing
to fear about the long-tern value of stocks, even though their present
values are down (another way to look at it is that they are on sale
now).
