I finally got fed up with the Acura stealership. I do most of the work
on my bike so I'm thinking I can I least do the oil changes on my TL.

Here's my question: Can I put the front wheels on ramps to do an oil
change? I'm wondering if the old oil will drain out properly with the
car at an angle.

Wouldn't that depend on the location of the drain hole..?

The drain hole is at the rear of the oil pan, so no worries there. In fact,
with ramps you'll get even /better/ drainage than you would with the car
sitting level.

You may, however, have some difficulty finding ramps that work with your
car's (very low) front bumper skin. I use a lever jack and jack stands to
elevate my own car.

I'm a little wearing of jack stands. Call me chicken.

I called the shop where I get my Krown treatments, and he said I could
bring my oil and filter and he'll do it for $15. Good deal considering
I don't have to dispose of the old oil.

BTW, I'm switching to synth, too. Either Mobil 1 Extended Performance
or Amsoil. I run Amsoil in my bike, so I might go with that.

You shouldn't *wear* jack stands, you should put them under your car.

Properly placed, good jack stands are as safe as houses. You're a
chicken.

Properly worn, jack stands are far more impressive at company parties than
lampshades.
