I drove a 330d for 7 years and enjoyed it... now I drive a 330xd for a
year (same E46 model as the 330d, not a new model) and it's much more
pleasure on ice or heavy rain (not to say more fun on normal roads...)
the only drawback I saw is the one more liter of fuel per 100km
necessary.. and it should be more on the 328 not gasoil engine ?

I am thinking of waiting a bit longer. Europe has lots of higher
milage turbo diesels.
I hear bmw is coming with them here. But i am not so sure diesel is
easy to find.
Here is the USA there is mostly gas stations but not so much diesel.

I wonder if you or anyone else knows what kind of extra maintenance
there is on AWD?
I supposed you have to change the gear oil everyone once in awhile and
make sure there is not
too much tire wear on front or rear tires?

Diesel is easy to find; more limited but easy. Every Safeway station,
Shell, 76, Chevron, Exxon. Costco doesn't have diesel.

However, BMW is not importing the 335xd. The only awd diesels
they're initially importing is the X5, possibly the X6.
