If you put it on the wall 30 feet in front of the car and you are off
even a fraction of an inch that will translate into being off a very
large amount a quarter mile down an actual road. I've had the best
luck by just going out on the street at night and aiming the car at
something at least several hundred feet away and adjusting the
headlights to throw the pattern I want.
