Default OIL Leak in 1995 lesabre engine

I got this 1995 buick le sabre 3.8 that developed an oil leak Just above
the oil filter. Can't see the leak exactly with the damper on so I pulled
it off fugering it may be the main crank seal. Well.... mabey.. but now
that I have the damper out I don't see any oil on the inside. Humm you
would think there would be some in there but no- dry as a bone, I will
replace the main seal but it looks like the only other source of the leak
could be the oil pan gasket. Now I can't check it untill the damper is back
on because " it only leaks when the engine is running." My question is
How likely is it that the pan gasket would just start leaking? Do these
engines have a common problem with that? BTW the new seal is $34.00 by
itself or $17.50 with the gasket set for timming cover. Go figure. Anybody
had any similar experence? Oh yeah its got 107,000 on it if that means
anything. Well just curious, Tom. Oh yeah Al this is a good time
to replac my cracked Serpintine belt now that it out anyway.

I believe the oil pressure sensor is directly above the filter on that
model.
I have seen them leak, sometimes even intermittently. Check it out.

Yeah, I looked at the sensor - its dry and rusty. Probably not where the
leak is. Guess ill just put the new main seal in and start it up again and
see if the leak is still there. Thanks for the reply though. Tom
