question
i have a 92 olds tornado trofeo and a 89 buick lesabre both with the
3.8. The olds has 151000 miles and the buick has 169000. both cars run
excellent yet the buick has about twice the power as the olds. Given
that the buick is older and heavier with more miles, one would think
that the olds would have more power, but it doesnt even come close.
Could anyone give me a clue as to why this is? thanks

Different differential ratios &/or transmissions?

Have they always been that way? Even though they both seem to be running
well, there could be a loss of compression, faulty spark advance, and a
bunch of other factors that still allow the engine to run smooth, but with
less power.

Re: question
its been that way since ive had it, thats about two years, and its been
regularly maintnenced, i guess its been about a year since the last tune
up. Maybe dirty fuel injection??

Re: question
the gas mileage on the olds is also about half of that of the buick.
could it be something in the fuel system?
