My uncle once bought a Ford station wagon instead of a Chevrolet because he
said the "wheel bearings were bigger." He figured the axle would last a
lot longer, especially if carried a heavy load occasionally.

So, with that in mind, how about offering just a token more than the
competition? Like, include CD-ROMs of the shop manual and parts manual.
You do not even offer the parts manual as an extra cost option today. It
is not available from Helms, Inc. Give those two items away for a cost of
about 50 cents per car and you will get customers like my uncle who could
pull some obscure detail out of the hat and make a buying decision based on
something Chevrolet never even thought about.

People don't even read their Owner Manual... You can see that by reading
    these newsgroups!

That is so true! I have an uncle that owned a Cadillac for 4 years before
he found out it had automatic emergency brake release.

Unfortunately true...The owners manuals in general are so full of words but
devoid of meaning, they are in general pretty dull reading. They treat us
    like
    we were idiots...maybe we are.
