Default RPM fall down and the car stop

i have a verada 92 SW
the car has 143000 km
and since a week a saw the rpm of the car falling down when i stop at
a light and the car stop when 2km before everything was fine
the battery is ok i don`t have any problem to restart
and after sometimes the rpm come back to normal!
someone have any idea where the problem came from?

Does this happen when the gas tank is less than 1/4 full? If so could be
the fuel filter (cannister on the firewall) needs replacing or at least
removing and blowing backwards with compressed air. Might also be the fuel
pump. More likely is that the gas tank evaporative system is blocked in some
way. Try running (briefly) with the gas cap open to see if the problem
persists.

Also check for error codes from the ECU. The error port is under the dash
above the brake pedal. Get a 12V LED (or an ordinary 2V LED with a 470ohm or
so 1/2W resistor). Connect across the error port diagonal pins so the LED
flashes. A long flash = 10, short = 1. Hence say error 24 = 2 long 4 short.
Normal operation is a continous stream of short flashes.
