Default No radio, pwr window, pwr roof.

I am working on a friend of mine 1998 Grand Prix.

I traced the problem to the RAP relay. Retain Accessory Power I think
it is called. The relay coil isn't getting pulled to ground by the
BCM. If I jumper the coil side to ground then everything works.

I will check the bcm grounds and wire to the relay to make sure it is
in fact this part that is bad. If so; Is this a common problem? Is
BCM an expensive part? Dealer item only or is it available
aftermarket? and does it have to be programmed or just plug it in?

I am thinking to pull the relay out and short across it and tell her
to make sure she turns her radio off when she gets out of the car. Or
else run these circuits off of a switched bus inside the fuse block.

We're both a couple of working slobs so we're trying to get this done
at a reasonable price.

regards,
Snooky

Default Re: No radio, pwr window, pwr roof.

I had eliminated my RAP module on my 95 Bird by

At the rap module...there were 7 wires

: gray w/black tracer
yellow/black tracer
black
brown
red
blue
pink

I made a jumper to connect
the brown to the blue
and the red to the pink

it may work for you...it is still working for me.
note:
Both jumpers have to be installed before it will work...
Hope this works for ya.....Stan
