| | | 2003 Grand Prix & 2003 Bonneville I own both of these vehicles and they have almost identical miles of
86,000 miles on each of them. I'd like to say after owning these two
Pontiacs, this is the reason why everyone is buying Japanese vehicles.
These cars are terrible! I don't want to say they've been totally
unreliable, because that would be a lie. Just about everything on them
doesn't work though!
On the Grand Prix > the windshield wiper fluid doesn't work, the radio
lights are gone (can't see which station you're listening to), the
newest thing to go is when you shut off the ignition the doors do not
unlock. When you unlock them by hand the alarm goes off. You must
unlock the car with the key control pad when you shut off the car.
On the Bonneville > The biggest thing is the gas gauge doesn't work.
About an 1/4 of the radio lights are out, and the whole front end
makes all kinds of noises. I've had it looked at, but the mechanic
can't seem to find anything wrong. Now it seems to be losing the pep
it used to have.
I wrote Pontiac about these problems and guess what they said?
Nothing! Three months later I got a call at my house from some India
guy saying they were sorry that they must of lost my letter or it was
lost somewhere for those three months. They said if I'd like to write
anymore about my problems about these two cars that I should reference
a number. I basically told them about the problems and after these
cars, I'm buying Japanese. You would think this would throw some alarm
off some where. Nothing. No one seems to care. Now you see in the
papers that people buying foreign cars are a big surprise to the
american car companies! They don't know why people are doing this.
Hello? Did you read my lost letter? Guess not. Just give it a
reference number.
When I get rid of these two cars I'm buying a Toyota and a Honda. I've
owned a Toyota before and never had these troubles. If anything should
work on a car it ought to be at least the radio!
I also owned a Cutlass Ciera and those cars were so good, they went
out of business! I had that car for 150,000 miles and only changed an
alternator. Almost all the Ciera's were like that. Why did they stop
making them? I'm guessing they were not selling enough of them. They
stopped making them and started making crap! A few years later they're
out of business! Now almost all the american car companies are out of
business. Do you know why? They are making CRAP! Us Americans are only
going to buy so much of that crap and then we'll start smartening up.
The Toyota's are even beating the crap out of the american cars in
NASCAR! They'll have to bring in Honda to beat them!

I think the bottom line is I've had more trouble with american cars
than I've had with foreign cars. I lived in Germany for 6 1/2 years
when I was in the military and the so called american cars there (GM &
Ford) are not even sold here in america. Those cars get some kick ass
gas mileage. Why don't they sell them here? Your guess is as good as
mine. I've heard it many times from the american car
makers.....Americans don't want small cars. Then why are they buying
them? I think someone over there in Detroit better get their head out
of their ass! Gas is expensive. I cannot afford to put a ton of it in
my cars when I have a 300 gallon tank I have to keep full in my
celler! Make small, fast cars. People will buy them! In Europe I see
some of their 10 cylinder BMW's and Mercedes' and they are like our
mid-size car. |

Go ahead and buy the Japanese stuff. Their light bulbs don't last
forever either, but no one will admit that one burned out.
