Default 95 Pontiac firebrid

i need the schematics for it. i think. at first my fan wouldnt come
on, so i would have to speed up in order to cool it off. and now its
having trouble getting in to 5th, (automatic). and it overheats all
the time. if i drive it for 30 min i gotta pull over and put water
into it. do i have a cracked head? the ac works, but the fan never
cuts on at all. its a v6. i jus changes the thormostat, and the water
pump.and it sucks down gas REAL BAD.

Help!

You could have a bad fan relay. Have it taken to a local GM dealer
and have them check the codes. It may cost you $100 bucks, but they
can let you know what the situation is from reading the PCM.

Bad news is your Firebird is OBD-I and the code readers are $$$. In
1996 Firebirds when to ODB-II which there are planty of code readers
for a reasonable amount. But, you need an expert who can tell what
is happen.

One last though. My 95 Trans-Am is the LT-1 V-8. The cooling system
has to be bleed of air. Look for a brass screw attached to the
intake hose, if it is there then bleed off the air and that could
solve one issue.

Good luck, post back when she is running again.

Take care/

does cooling fan come on when you turn the ac on? if it does you need
the fan control swith on the engine... if fan doesnt come on with ac on,
probe its wire with voltmeter to see if its getting 12 volts. if it
is,the fan motor is bad.
