| | | {OT} just one more result of liberalism ATLANTA - More than 1 million cases of chlamydia were reported in the
United States last year the most ever reported for a sexually
transmitted disease, federal health officials said Tuesday.
Gonorrhea rates are jumping again after hitting a record low, and an
increasing number of cases are caused by a "superbug" version resistant
to common antibiotics.
Syphilis is rising, too. The rate of congenital syphilis which can
deform or kill babies rose for the first time in 15 years.
"Hopefully we will not see this turn into a trend," said Dr. Khalil
Ghanem, an infectious diseases specialist at Johns Hopkins University's
School of medicine. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071114/...12;_ylt=AoAmTz

Here we have the result of teaching "sex education" at younger ages in
public schools. I guess demonstrating how to put condoms on cucumbers
really isn't translating to the real thing.
Why are schools in the business of teaching how to have sex? They are
failing just as miserably as they are in teaching the learning basics.

No, we don't. Nice try, though. http://www.talkingwithkids.org/nicke.../pr-3-8-01.htm
Parents are especially likely to delay talking about puberty, sex and
related issues. Two thirds of parents of 8-11 year olds (61%) report that
their child initiated the first conversation about the basics of
reproduction. In two out of five families, discussions about puberty (40%)
and HIV/AIDS (38%) were also started by the child.
Even when parents and kids do talk, the survey finds that the message isn't
always getting through. From a third to more than half of 8-11 year olds
whose parents say they have talked with them about a particular issue do not
recall the conversation. For example, 59 percent of kids whose parents say
they discussed HIV/AIDS don't remember the conversation. Parents are also
more likely than kids to say that talks about these issues occur
"regularly," while kids tend to recall just one or two discussions. http://www.webmd.com/news/20000926/p...ed-survey-says
Sept. 26, 2000 (Washington) -- Sex education classes in America's public
schools may not be making the grade, at least in terms of what parents are
expecting. Surprisingly, a new poll reveals that there is a substantial gap
between what mom and dad think should be in the curriculum vs. what's
actually taught.
"Contrary to common wisdom, when it comes to sex education, parents want it
all, from abstinence to homosexuality," says Steve Rabin, JD, senior vice
president of the Kaiser Family Foundation, which sponsored the survey. The
data were presented at a news conference here Tuesday.
Some 1,500 pairs of secondary school students and their parents were polled
by phone in the analysis done last May. More than a thousand sex education
teachers and 313 principals also were surveyed. http://www.alternet.org/rights/52648/
Last fall, a congressional report said abstinence-only education fed
students false information about pregnancy and birth control, and in the
last six months of Horn's tenure, six states announced they would no longer
accept federal abstinence funds. |

Apparently this one is: http://www.courttv.com/news/2007/111...ink=newsletter
I'd have to say this was just a little extreme, but apparently the PTB
don't want parents usurping the public school system's authority. |

If your local schools are teaching kids HOW TO have oral sex, it's your
fault. They're probably not teaching it, though. This last statement will
now cause an endless debate about how to warn kids about a certain activity
without actually telling them what the activity is. |

As I said, this was just a little extreme. But the oral sex
instruction was the only threshold that was surpassed by this mother.
Everything else has been taught for some time now, including condom
insertion over garden vegetables.
Someone recently posted, here I think, that the public school system is
too busy teaching kids about condoms to bother with the Constitution. |

YMMV, but here, we found that failure to bitch is the reason problems
continue in school.
My son and a few friends circulated a petition in a math class because the
teacher refused to offer any help after school, something that all the
teachers said they'd do. This was an AP course with highly motivated kids,
so it wasn't a question of them not trying to get past problems on their
own. The teacher told them that if they'd read the book, they wouldn't be
having problems. The kids said they'd read the material several times, and
still had questions.
Some hall rat kid saw the petition being circulated and literally ran to the
principal's office, which resulted in my son and a friend being hauled down
there. Oops. His friend was the daughter of the former superintendent, who
still pulls strings and scares administrators. Result: The teacher was gone
the next day. He returned the day after that, and according to my son, it
seemed someone had put new batteries in him.
That's how to do it. Fear and humiliation are sometimes your best tool when
you, as the CUSTOMER, are not getting the service you expect for your money.
School administrators need to remember who is the customer. |

I remember plenty of Republican kids getting VD and pregnant, and the
US isn't nearly as liberal in sexuality as countries like the
Netherlands and Canada, which have lower VD and unmarried pregnancy
rates. |

One more result of liberalism? Oh, sorry, I'd forgotten that
conservatives never have sex, probably because they don't know how.
Actually, on reflection, it would be nice if they didn't, because after this
nutjob generation, they'd die out. |

It is called natural selection. Soon, very soon the liberals will
become extinct like the dodo bird.
