I like that law. It's a nice law. The NAACP is all fucked up with their view
on this situation.

Why didn't the homeowner kill all three?

That's explained clearly in the 4th paragraph.

It's classical logic: "You brought this shit on yourself. Deal with it."

I don't think he is a saint. However, I have absolutely no problems with
the actions the guy who did the shooting took. They broke into his house
in the middle of night, attacked his stepson so badly that he can no
longer live with the family and cannot feed himself. He may have been
under the influence of pot at the time, but you run that risk when you
break into someone else's house.

I do have problems with charging someone for murder if the color of the
skin is a reason for making the charges. However, while the accusation
has been made that this is racial, I see no evidence for this.

Pot alone typically doesn't cause people to behave violently, but the NAACP
is apparently going to pretend that fact doesn't exist. The homeowner's
doctor may be a little nervous, though. I wonder if or how pot interacts
with the "other" medication the guy was taking.

I think the question "is this young being charged with crimes that he
would not be charged with if he were white" should be asked.

From the news story, I can't answer them.

If there have been similar cases involving only people of one skin color
with similar charges being filed, then I would say that the prosecution
is not racist. If, on the other hand, in most similar cases only
burglary-related charged have been filed when the people involved were
of one skin color, then I would say that there is a good possibility
that this is racist prosecution.

Hughe's mother said: "But this I know: My son did not murder his
childhood friends." You go into a house illegally, and your friends get
shot, yeah, you are partly responsible for their deaths, especially if
on of them beat the brains up of a stepson of someone with a gun.

Why should he be? The doctor could not reasonably predict that someone
would break into the guy's home. Had he know this, he might have
prescribed a machine gun or a least a more powerful rifle.

He may be questioned a bit. You know how this kind of thing goes. It might
turn into a circus.
