Default OT Top Earmark-er Clinton Grants $303,000 to Gay Lobby Group

L20080124e.html>

" (CNSNews.com) - A group that lobbies for needle exchanges, for
allowing more immigrants with HIV/AIDS to legally enter the country, and
for condom distribution in prisons received a $303,000 federal earmark
pushed by Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).

That was one of 261 earmarks Clinton personally helped usher through
Congress. That's more earmarks than any other member of Congress seeking
the presidency, according to an analysis by the watchdog group Citizens
Against Government Waste (CAGW)."

This one bugs me:

$500,000 for Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, for an Obesity
Prevention and Control project in Alaska.”

Sponsor: Sen. Stevens (R-AK)

Correction:

Abstinence education works so badly that Specter arranged to fund 25
separate organizations which teach abstinence! Amazing!

That one broke for me - weird; a much longer one didn't, not too long ago.

This was what I was saying about www.tinyurl.com - you never know when the
person's reader will crap out on your link.

Interesting:

Senator Specer: 188 earmarks for $22,625.00
http://earmarkwatch.org/2008-senate-...ch/?sponsor=88

Senator Clinton: 28 earmarks for $14,450,00
http://earmarkwatch.org/2008-senate-...ch/?sponsor=21

They both sponsored lots of hospitals and some job training programs. What I
do NOT see in Clinton's list are things like Specter's abstinence education
earmarks, which are considered useless after many years' worth of evaluation
by people who know about these things.

Maybe your real issue isn't with the amounts of the earmarks, but with the
fact that Clinton gave the money to a gay rights organization. When
Republicans have issues with gays, it's usually because they ARE gay. Is
there something you'd like to tell us?

Earmarks should be made illegal, NOW!!!

We should fire ALL the current congress seat holders.

Be sure we get the ones in who will seal up the borders and kick out the
illegals. If our elected officials won't do something, we will, in the
voting booth.

NO AMNESTY!!
