Very powerful Scott. About fifteen years ago, a friend of mine bought a
"street sweeper" shotgun. When he thought he had it pointed safely at
the ground it accidentally discharged and with one shot, promptly blew
half of his right foot off.

After years of litigation he won a large settlement from the company
claiming it was a defective weapon.

Probably not the preferred method of making money, enjoying target
practice, or getting that "pole position parking" rear view mirror
handicapped tag.

An acquaintance of mine fucked up like that with a 9mm. Luckily he only had
a flesh wound.

Firearms are dangerous when mishandled.

I make damned sure that he is not at the gun range when I practice...LOL

Yup.

Think that thing would 'protect' you driving thru the mean streets of
Baghdad?

Why sure, just as similar popguns protected the folks at David Koresh's
resort outside Waco a few years back.
This is what I don't understand about the rightwingnuts who think a Model 70
or a .38 S & W is going to keep the battalions of Feds from breaking down
their door.
A couple of firearms in the home is going to do nothing about dozens of
military personnel with bigger and better weapons.......It will only piss
them off.

I don't think any sensible individual thinks they're going to go up
against a battalion of Feds. The more sensible person is concerned
that our country would degrade to the point where the Feds think this
is their right.

On the other hand, very stupid people think this would be impossible.

Depending on the ratio of one to the other, maybe or maybe not.

When the Feds arrive at your door, just go out on the front porch and win
them over with sweet talk, then.

Do you really, honestly think that when the Feds come calling on you,
they'll be armed with Daisy BB guns or a couple of Tasers with weak
batteries? Then go ahead and try to bring your trusty 12 gauge to the fray
and see how long you last.

Mack, you are right on. I started thinking about this way back. I
imagine somebody feeling fiesty with his auto shotgun or cheesy
chinese AK taking a few potshots at the rampaging army down their
street (ours or "theirs")and then the whole block is leveled. See
what we can do in Iraq? We can trully lay waste to huge areas.

My thought is to be docile and then ask to join the rampaging army and
they will give me a honking fully-auto weapon, a sidearm, shitloads of
ammo, and superior air support. Then that loud harley driving bozo's
house is being converted into toothpicks.

I do want one of those new super light military auto shotguns.
Sweet. We need a good shotgun or two to protect us from the roving
scumbags if the "end" ever really comes.

Here's one.
http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/m4.tpl

There is an even newer one but I can't find the link. It's on my home
computer.

WTF are you talking about ? Try to make a sensible sentence or two about
my remarks, and I'll try to determine what you're saying, and get back to
you. Or not.
