Default OT: Condition of U.S. Military

A survey of 3,400 active and retired high-level officers give their
opinions on the U.S. military on several subjects, including the war,
torture, manpower needs, and the next war:

We had this discussion once before. Someone told you to believe that all our
soldiers think everything's just peachy, the war's a great idea, and humans
cease to make mistakes once they are elected to public office.

Whoever told you that was wrong.

From the article....

Participants in the survey were selected by the Center for a New
American Security and Foreign Policy. The nonscientific survey was
administered online from December 7, 2007, to January 15, 2008. For
more information or a further breakdown of the results, please contact
info@cnas.org.

NONSCIENTIFIC SURVEY .... ONLINE

"FOREIGN POLICY is published by the Carnegie Endowment for
International Peace."

Sounds like an academic journal, not the wacking material you normally
enjoy (Dog Fancy and Cat Fancy magazines).

Not so. Scott reads "Soldier of Fortune" to see what he's missed by being
in the Navy.

You're correct. Soldiers have no opinions. They have no thoughts. They
accept whatever they're told.

You hate our soldiers. Why?

The report is garbage. Even if it had credence it still does not
reflect the entire military. There are always a few who don't have
enough to do so they complain. The old saying is always true, busy
troops are happy troops.
