Yes sir, for once we agree totally. These men and women who have served our
nation over the decades deserve our utmost respect and gratitude.
and on Veterans' Day, let's remember the people who died, not in combat, but
in accidents while on duty...I can think of two fine fellows from my unit
in Korea who never made it home because their C-124 Globemaster crashed in
the Han river after takeoff on Washington's birthday 1957. They were going
on R and R in Japan.
And another young soldier I had the misfortune to watch when this happened -
he was lighting a field stove and the flaming gas spritzed all over him. He
lived five days in agony. He served his country evey bit as much as a
person killed in combat. RIP to our fallen heroes, and a very snappy
salute to the living ones. Good job, ladies and gentlemen.

The following may sound rude, but it's not intended so. I'm simply
providing some food for thought.

I don't believe this myself, but you know, Mack, some people
say soldiers are on a lower social rung than hookers. Both sell their
bodies. Hookers, however, can quit anytime they want. A soldier
can't quit--well unless he wants to be court-martialed. The soldier
cannot *legally* quit selling his body.

People who say the above usually believe /violence is the last refuge
of the incompetent/. Such people take a peaceful, nonviolent approach to
the resolution of conflict.

Of course, soldiers, politicians, and others usually counter these
nonviolent activists by bringing up the Nazis. The soldiers laughingly and
derisively say, "You mean you all could have stopped the Nazi's advancing
armies simply by talking nicely to them, or holding mass nonviolent
demonstrations in the streets?" To which the peaceful
types reply, dumbass, if nobody joined the army, the Nazis wouldn't have
anybody to invade with. If men around the world felt this way, there would
be no more armies and no more wars.

Just some food for thought. The ideas are a bit ahead of their time, but
all great progressive ideas are :-)

Thanx Mike from an 'Old' soldier. And there will always be
veterans. Man hasn't been able to get along with each other since
the beginning of upright life's beginning on this planet, and it
will never happen. Man is destined to destroy himself. As long as
this is factual soldiers will be needed and soldiers = veterans.

To All Veterans, Thanks for your dedicated service and your
sacrifices. I raise my cup to you

very inclined to be of built_well's mindset. Much much closer to what
Jesus wants for us. I encourage active, nonviolent resistance over
war. Not to be equated with pacifism, although many of the
smooth-brained cretins around here make that incorrect comparison. Its
how we just won Capitol Hill back... so there IS something to it.

Are you so hopelessly naive to actually believe that you WON anything?
DEMONrats won't get ONE bill passed unless they co-operate with the
Executive Branch. Of course, that works both ways.
