| | | Speedometer test take two
On my highway there's a "speed meter" on the side to tell you how fast
you're driving (so to scare you to slow down I guess.) I took my 2007
Camry, make sure no other cars are around, and set cruise at 75 mph,
and the speed meter picked me up as only going 69 mph. I circled
back, repeat at 70 mph cruise and the speed meter picked me up at 65
mph.
Took my 2000 Maxima, same thing, 75 is picked up as 70, and 70 picked
up as 65.
Then took my 1990 Corolla, wah la, 75 is 75, 70 is 70. |

them to be withing 2 or 3 mph the same day. My Highlander registers about
72 at an actual 70. I'd suggest using the mile markers and a watch to clock
thru several miles. Damned hard to hold speed exact but a 3 mile avg pretty
good if you are steady.

The "speed meter" is probably wrong.
Easiest way to check your speed: GPS, for as litle as $99 (hold near
windshield for good view of sky, recommend having a passenger for this).
And then you have a fun toy for other things. Justification to spouse - I'm
avoinding a $150 speeding ticket and license points!

Too late. I already used that excuse to buy Valentine One radar
detector ($400), LOL. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
