Default prizm trans going bad ?

After replacing the left half shaft the car is still making funny
grinding noises when making a left turn. On top of that I I have
noticed some vibrations when idling in Drive. It's almost as if the
transmission is trying too hard to let the car drive away, making it
shudder.
This is a 1.6 engine with a 3 speed auto. Is there any adjustments
possible to the transmission ? Or is this a sign of it going south ?

no, but checked the wheels for play and they rotated great.

All replaced less than a year ago.

I talked to a tranny shop. He said the 3 speeds have a bearing that
goes south sometimes. He thinks that's what it is. He said these are
also used in some camry's ? (or were).....
350 plus parts to fix.

The Camry hasn't had a 3 speed automatic for over 20 years, probably longer.

the base idle speed seems a little high - check the sticker under the hood
to see if it lists idle speed.
