Why would one defend him? But I wasn't about to believe a tabloid's story,
that's for sure.

Exactly. I don't see a whole lot of defense from the right on the
*numerous* sleazy, cheating GOPers of the past year.

You should re-think the tabs. They seem to be the cutting edge of

And I will too. You have to ask yourself however a major news story
like this has to be broken by a impulse rack news tab and not by a major
news media outlet and appears to have forced the major news outlets to
come clean. IT IS a major story that many people want to know about.
Otherwise it is just plain suppressing the news and that is wrong in a
democracy when the news media has a special place and responsibilities
set forth in the U.S. Constitution.

The blind pig mainstream media failed to find this one. The mainstream
media is on coffee break or they don't want to report news, lazy perhaps
or more likely on the take.

The mainstream media has known about this for some time. They were
just hoping Edwards could wriggle out of it somehow but when the
pictures came out his goose was cooked. |

That's because we don't defend morally bankrupt politicians who cheat
on their cancer-stricken wives and use them as campaign fodder. We
really don't think their character is something we want representing us
to the world. |

I haven't seen Dems defend any of the sleazier members of their party. If
you have, please cite.

Hadn't heard that one, but believe it or not, that's possible. Even if it
isn't true, Frank, like other Dems, isn't pointing fingers at the morals (or
lack thereof) of others. That's what magnifies the sexual escapades of GOP
members. The old glass houses gets them every time.
But, as I've said (many) times before, I don't expect *any* politician to be
anything more than human. Just don't expect me and others to be more moral
than *you* are yourself, and be adult enough to own up to your actions.
Edwards clearly didn't do that, and I wonder if there was a conspiracy of
silence in the media, or if Edwards is just such old news nobody cares.
Either or both is possible.
The GOP pretty much STFU about that Family Values thing until now. Gee, I
wonder why?
Look at how much the GOP is rolling in this Edwards thing, vs. how little
shit they've gotten from the Dems for the numerous sexual (and financial)
indiscretions by GOP members, just in the last year alone.
All I'm saying is that all this crowing about Edwards looks quite
hypocritical, coming from the Republicans. They couldn't say shit about
*anyone's* morals for a while, so they're bleeding this story for all it's
worth. Edwards is a sleazeball to be sure; if you Google my posts about the
time he was criticizing Coulter's comments about him and his family, you'll
see that I was sharply criticizing *his* using his family's problems as a
political platform. Coulter had the right idea about him, she just said it
in a horrible way. (typical of her)
Both parties* make me sick, but for very different reasons.
