Default Saw a Scion today

We were out driving around today and saw a Scion. I don't think I've seen
one before. Fascinating. This one was very small looking, not sure what
model it was.

But when I look up the MPG ratings, it looks like they don't get much ( if
any ) better MPG than our Corolla wagon.

27-33?

This wagon gets 25-30. Why would we buy a Scion then?

It's funky styling.

Seriously, it is very practical with loads of room. I looked at one
while getting my Sienna oil changed and I was very surprised at how much
room it had. The seats and driving position felt like a truck. The
back with the seat folded down almost like my Sienna, but not as long.
I don't know how well it rides, with the shorter WB I would think a
little choppy. I don't think I'll be buying one.

That's a great question.

If ALL you're looking at is MPG, then you wouldn't.

If, however, you're looking for MPG plus a car that's hugely
customizable right out of the gate, with all customizations covered by
warranty, and you like the body style available, then you might look at
a Scion.

I test drove a Tc and thought it handled quite well.

Car handles like it's on rails! But the seats are short in the bottoms and
too high. Other than that it's a great car.

Only as a Matrix. Here, anyway...

The Matrix is based on the Corolla chassis, but in my opinion it is
not a Corolla wagon.

A redesign of the Matrix to actually be a Corolla wagon would make me
'think' about replacing my '92 Corolla wagon in ten years or so....

Oops, I misread. The testdrive was too short to notice that.
