| | | {OT} Great Movie! Mamma Mia! My wife suggested we go see Mamma Mia.
I was a bit hesitant, thought it would be boring.
Turned out to be a great movie.
Highly Recommended! http://www.mammamiamovie.com/

My wife and daugther saw it yesterday too. They also thought it was great.
No big surprise there.
My son and I saw "Dark Knight" on Thursday. "Mamma Mia" was not even an
option for us guys. |

I bet you would like the movie.

Who'd a thunk it. Snott is a metrosexual. |

The evening I went - w/a bunch of other women - to see Sex & the City,
AFAICT there were all of 3 men in the theater. My guess was that they were
all dragged (&/or bribed) there by their wives/gf's.

You'd have to drag me in chains to see either MM or SATC, but Dark Knight
RULED.
It's one of the few movies that lives up to the hype. I thought all the
buzz about Ledger was overblown, though. He was good, yes, but
Oscar-worthy? Nope. He borrowed heavily from Cesar Romero's Joker (the old
Batman series) - he even did the little fist-shaking giggle Romero used. I
didn't like Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel. She was miscast, IMO, despite
being a good actress otherwise. Bet Katie Holmes is kicking herself for
turning this movie down to do "Mad Money". :-P
Those are very small nits, though.

I agree with you there about Gullenhaal. BTW, is she considered a pretty
actress by whoever decides that stuff?
In Holmes case, at least the replacement did not do a better job than the
original. OTOH, I remember back when Harrison Ford took over the lead in
the Tom Clancy films after Alec Baldwin only did "Hunt for Red October."
After seeing Ford on screeen, I was like "Who's Alec Baldwin?" |

I think she's funny-looking - a caricature, like a ventriloquist's dummy,
but I thought if I said that earlier, it would look catty. I'm glad a *guy*
said it. LOL Her brother is considered hot too - I think he's weird-looking
as well. I usually find non-traditional looking people as often quite
attractive (Bruce Willis, for example), but I don't get it with the
Gyllenhaals.

Hubby loves that stuff. Speaking of Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones was
originally cast with Tom Selleck, but by the time he got the word, he'd
already signed on to Magnum. I don't think it would be as big a hit with
him in the lead, though I like him.
