He says he doesn't have the fast one, the "SR"(?), but he has the "KA". He
said he knows the former was a POS. He says his dream car is the new Supra.
He also said Toyota enthusiasts can be really pompous.
Don't hurt him - he's the only son I have.

I'm not the one selling him the car!
The KA was the engine that had the problem, but I think they fixed it in
'93.
A lot of Nissans just aren't made very well, but Nissan almost went down
the tubes in the early '90's, so they smartened up.
A lot of their cars look good, esp the SX, but I would look it over well
to see how it was put together. |

One of my husband's troops is a car nut like you, and he gave Craig the nod
to buy it.
Nissan used to be Datsun, wasn't it? I remember that commercial that
probably was the reason they changed their name. The tent revival, which
mocked evangelists - "Datsun Saves!" Gawd, what were they thinking?!

Yep, I had a little Datsun B-210 from '76-84.

Yeah, but I actually owned one!
Worst car I ever loved, except for my Volvo: http://www.pestalozzi.net/sb/volvo_1...1800es_410.jpg http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1060/...8f4348.jpg?v=0 http://www.ritzsite.net/RAI03CON/Vol...00_ES_1972.JPG
At least I was only working on the Nissan every OTHER week!! |

Mine was the 4-speed Hatchback in the horrid, almost fluorescent
"Lemon-Lime Yellow".
If I had a nickel for every time I tried to shift into fifth...
Ran the wheels off that little car as only a teenager could, and
except for the carburetor mainshaft getting so sloppy the carb had to
be replaced nothing else broke.
I think I smoked one alternator with the two-way radio load. They
didn't plan on people running a 50W MOTRAN and a light-bar in a
compact.
And it wasn't the last time or last car I had that problem...

Mine was a sedan in a nice dark blue, also 4-speed. Car before it was a
3-speed, so no trying to shift up from 4th.

The gas line kept clogging - had 3 filters along the line, but that didn't
really solve the problem. Car would stall out at full stops -although always
immeduiately started again. But a PITA. Other than that, & the fact it was
spartan - but affordable! - I liked it. Was cute. IMO.

Nope! OTOH, I didn't watch much TV while in college ('68 - '72), & then
didn't own a TV until... '76 or '77 maybe?

Nope. The Honeybee was actually the bottom, bottom trim level. I had the
bottom trim level: it had carpet & a radio. ;-)
