Default OT - Consumer Reports has its own recall

Safety seat tests were flawed:

http://www.cnn.com/2007/AUTOS/01/18/car_seat/index.html

Apparently their tests simulated a 70 mph side crash instead of 38 mph as
intended. Amazing that any of the seats passed.

Duh!

Any car seat that can pass a 38mph test at 70mph should get an extra Gold
Star. Those that fail at 70 should be tested again to see if they pass at
38, where they were supposed to have been tested in the first place.

Instead of a Recall, they need another test for those that failed, and a
Strong Recommendation for the units that passed.

Well, yes, I suppose WE are. But, I have a daughter with a friend from a
severely dysfunctional family, and she has a new baby that my wife and I am
helping with. We could use a child seat because our own kids (girls) are in
the baby-making age group.

Okay, but mashing MY inner child into a car seat is a bit over the top.
Surely you get the point.
