"Kreider said Gore purchases enough energy from renewable energy sources
such as solar, wind and methane gas to balance 100 percent of his
electricity costs."
Anybody know how Gore buys his electricity from a solar panel or a wind
generator rather than from a coal fired generator?

Supposedly, he buys from a 'Green' energy company.
While that's all well and good, ALL power comes off the National Grid. He
may be PAYING a company that generates Green Energy, but it all goes on
the Grid for distribution, so there is absolutely NO guarantee he is not
getting his power from the Coal fired plant two towns away, or <GASP!!!>
the Nuke in the next state.

I just posted why Al Gore's energy consumption is so high on the
alt.binaries.images.fun NG. The word is out on Al. |

Who released Gore's energy usage to the think tank that announced this? |

You should be wondering WHY anyone's taking pot shots at Gore at this point
in time. Could it be because he's the GOP's worst nightmare, if he decides
to run in 2008? |

I buy power from the local power company, but extra money goes to buy green
power from a company called Green Mountain Energy Company. They use wind and
other green resources. However, every time I turn on the lights, send
something over the internet, flush the toilet (water pumps + electricity to
run the plants that treats the toilet contents), turn on the air conditioner
listen to the stereo, I am using power generated by a coal fired plant. I
can assure you that every time I do these things and every time Al Gore does
these things, a little more carbon dioxide is released than if I didn't do
these. And if Al Gore or myself went totally solar, doing these things would
still put CO2 into the atmosphere. Not only do the solar panels not come
together for free, but, I would be feeding the power back into the grid when
I don't use them.
There is no free lunch. You can't even break even.

Then, why are they taking pot shots at him if he's not running? Hmmm?
