I'm planning to buy an S40 soon. I live in the French Alps, and was
wondering what sort of experience people have driving that model in the
mountains. Is the 1.6 l diesel sufficient? It's very economical, and
has a particle filter, so I'm leaning toward that one. (I'm going to
test drive it in a few days, but I'm curious what users have to say.)

Any other comments about the S40? Complaints, rants, raves?
