    Default steering wheel vibration

I noticed recently alloy wheels can deform on speed humps causing the rim to
look fine from the out side but in fact they may be somewhat oval on the
    unseen side .
The lack of support on the inside of the rim means it has nothing to stop
    distortion .
A mechanic was confused when a wheel would not balance till he observed the
    other side of the wheels and notice they were oval or out of round ;

Thanks John that's very useful to know.

Must take more care in future over speed humps.

Though mine do not vibrate and balanced OK last time.

I''ve driven over a lot of speed bumps with several Volvo cars and
haven't deformed a wheel as a result. Must have hit the speed bump at
    faster than posted speed.

Trus. But steel wheels can be bent on speed hump and potholes too.
I've done it. So the real message should be for drivers to watch
their speed regardless of the type of wheel.

It is the speed that you hit the road speed humps that counts .Volvo wheels
are better made than most as the local tyre tire /man rates them like this
GM forget it Ford maybe he can fix them Volvo good value .
Some people drive by sound the horn the scrape the bang the siren .
