I'd have little concern about the T5 --- it's a fantastic turbo on a
terrific engine. I never had any problem with mine in over 100K mi. I've
had several Volvo high-pressure turbos with never a problem --- SO LONG AS
THEY'RE MAINTAINED ON A REGULAR BASIS.

If the car you're looking at has primarily highway miles (and it would
almost have to with that many miles in the time you describe), and it's been
well-maintained, both the engine and turbo should be in good shape.

Some turbos just whine, the one in my 240 has howled like a banshee for
years, I've always thought it sounded kinda cool.
