Default fuel problem

i am still haveing problems with my j plate 940gl.the problem was with
about 1/4 tank of petrol the car would suddenly stop then start after a
few minuits of cranking, and give the codes 121 maf signal faulty or
absent, and 144 load signal from fuel injection absent or faulty.i changed
the in tank pump (new unit)and it ran ok for a week even down to nearly
empty, put £10 fuel in tank and within 5 minuites it cut out twice and gave
the same codes.this morning it cut out again but this time gave the code
232 fuel supply too weak or to rich at idling and 144 load signal from
injector absent or faulty.would the problem be with the main fuelpump, fuel
filter,or fuel pump relay if so how would i check these.im now getting
p$"£^d off with it .i am also doing this with low funds.

How about the relay for the intank pump or the new intank pump itself
also. When in doubt change fuel filters if you haven't already. If it
is not that you can save the old filter and reuse it.

I once got a tank of bad gas, with sand, water, who-knows-what in it.
To limp to a garage, I would stop periodically and remove the fuel
filter, and put it on the fuel pump backwards and pump some gas through
it backwards to clean some of the gunk out of it, and put in on forward
to clean any gunk that got caught on the wrong side and then reinstall
it. After doing it about 3 times I was able to limp out of the outer
banks of NC and get to a garage. They drained the tank and cleaned it
before refilling it. They also put on all new filters and a can of dry
gas. The crap didn't hurt the pumps.

Default Re: fuel problem

The fuel filter does need regular changing to ensure that this fault does
not arise. I think it is around 35,000 - 40,000 miles intervals.

All the best, Peter.
