Thanks everyone. I'll check it out in the morning. I bought this
truck as a father/son project with my 15 1/2 year old son who is
getting interested in mechanical stuff and this will be his truck when
he starts driving. I'm not very mechanical at all. We got a full
drivers side door the other day at a salvage yard and put it on, only
to find out that the hinges on our truck have play in them, which
doesn't allow the door to close without lifting up on the door. So
back the the yard we'll go to pull the hinges from the truck we got
the door from, since it closed perfectly. Once the door, horn, gas
pedal, and bench seat are replaced, she might be road worthy

Thanks again!

and a "door hinge spring tool", most parts places have them now, and they
are cheap. It can be done with a large screw driver or pry bar but it's not
very safe(for you or the truck)

I just got the pins new in the mail, and when trying to remove the old
pins, there seems to be a piece of metal on the bottom of the old pins
that keeps it from coming out upwards. It's doesn't seem like a
removable cotter pin or anything, it seems like all one piece. Am I
missing something? Is the door hinge spring tool what I'm needing to
buy now?

Thanks,

JAC

There is a retainer on the pin. It looks like a thin washer. Just bend
it and take it off.
