Default How to trouble shoot wipers

My wipers are working intermittenly, how to determine if it is the stalk or
the motor? Neither the wipers or the fluid squirt will work, but the cruise
control does work. This is on a 91 Silverado.

Take a CLOSE look at the connector on the wiper motor. They sometimes
break loose.
Get a wiring diagram and use it to jump the power directly to the motor
from the battery. That will bypass the switch and wiring. If the motor
works OK then suspect the switch or wiring. To test the switch hook a
simple test light up to the harness at the motor. You should have power
with the switch in the on position. If it has intermittent then the
power will cycle with the timer.

For a reasonable priced wiring diagram try Mitchell online. The yearly
rate is not a bad deal.

OH and you can save the pages IF you use I.E. and access your cache. You
just find the image you want (load the LARGE image in the browser window
first) then copy it to a different folder with the proper name.

According to my Haynes manual, it is the pink wire going to the motor.
Looking for some confirmation that applying 12v there will activate the
motor, not fry everything.
