On my 1989, I had to remove four or five phillips head screws (look up from
under). A couple of the screws were down by my knees, and a couple were by
the speedo and tach windows. That allowed me to remove the decorative
shroud.

That revealed several sheet metal screws which came out with a socket
wrench.

Been two or three years since I did this, so I likely forgot a few things.
