Default A/C Issue on 2004 Silverado

My 04 Silverado blows hot air on the driver side, and ice cold A/C on the
other.
This all started when I had to change the battery last week.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? I have tried pulling the fuses,
disconnecting the battery, and crossing the positive and negative terminals
(after they are removed from the battery). I have noticed on web searches
that this seems to be an ongoing issue with these models.
Thanks.

You have an '04 AV and are on dieselplace?

Something we don't know about your AV??

(I only am aware of one guy who had replaced his engine in his '02 2500 AV
with a 6.6L Duramax.)

Noo....I remembered seeing a HVAC reset for these model years
somewhere....Googling brought me there first. Although I wouldn't mind an
earlier year 2500 Avalanche with the Diesel retrofitted. But I seem to
recall reading somewhere that the Allison transmission won't fit the
Suburban/Tahoe/Avalanche chassis/body

No go.
System cycles as described, then starts blowing hot air again.
Will have to see about replacing the actuator.
