Default What should it cost to install rebuilt engine?

I'm trying to get an idea of how much it 'should' cost me to have a rebuilt
    engine installed in a Chevy K1500 4X4 (305, 5.0, Vortec)

Also, what would be an average costs of labor at a professional mechanic?
How much 'an hour' should I be charged? Just a 'ballpark' figure is all I'm
    looking for.

    Thank you very much.

    Anthony

3500.00 to 4500.00 (inc. new long block motor).

labor these days is 75 to 100 hr.

Its not a hard job at all. You could do it yourself. About the hardest part of the whole thing
is getting the front assoc. drive components off, and back on. Complete swap should take about 5-10
hours with a stick shift... a little less with an auto trans.

You should have them change the motor mounts, and put in a new clutch if u have a standard trans.
Both these parts are low cost items.
