Default Steering Online Automotive Sales Through Social Media

Traditionally, automotive marketing for manufacturers and dealerships has relied upon television, radio and newspapers as a way to grab the attention of customers as they undertake their journey towards a car buying decision. However, there’s been a transfusion that’s injected energy and added some much needed horsepower to an already robust marketing plan of attack.

Today’s economic times dictate it’s now vital to explore new, practical ways to reach consumers on a level that traditional advertising may not be able to deliver. As a cost-effective automotive marketing tool, social media can serve as an immediate connection that’s not only calculable by analytics but it offers reach to an all-important demographic that car manufacturers and dealers crave – the young, tech-savvy consumer. At present, these same young buyers are in-tune with the digital culture, a society that uses technology as a primary method of getting information.

That's a valid point. Classified advertisements are an effective tool in achieving sales and prospects for an automotive dealership. However, social media -- as the blog addresses -- has a reach that adds a layer of an engagement to the integrated marketing mix. By developing relationships with the consumer, it can add additional revenues in such areas as the service department of the dealership.

Yes, correct. However, the quantity of the reach is not important in this case as a large number of consumers have a short attention span, or simply & bluntly do not care what is offered or available. Much like PPC, with free advertising tools you must still focus on the metrics of your audience.

Continue to value CTR, even if it is on twitter or facebook. It is important to address a large audience of people, more important to reach your target demo, & even MORE important to provide interesting content for them to be redirected & spend time on your site or on your lot!

Don't just focus in classified ads. You can add the social media sites and promote your business. It is better if you also write an article about your business. Be sure to share useful info to your readers.

SM being as important as it is, it's not a solid income generator as most say. Classified ads online are the #1 source of exposure for car dealers. Nobody goes to facebook and searches "used cars in new york", they google it, or go to autotrader.com and search their region. That's just a fact. Keep SM engagement, but make sure you're using those classified sites
