I was recently introduced to a product known as Sales Genius. (genius.com). The product has a good aproach to knowing more about your customer than you do now. Track their browsing habits on your sites, how long they spent looking at things, what email links they clicked, and where there went from links in your email marketing.

Our Internet sales department has just broken 40 deals / month, to get to the next level we need our internet guys to work relationships, not quotes.

Do you (the community) have any secrets about relationship marketing?

For relationship marketing I use a card sending system - there are a lot of emails that include mailing addresses (or your online credit app inquiries). Tuning these people into referral machines and setting yourself apart from the dealers that will forever spam email anybody who does an email inquiry at their dealership is what you are after.
