Default Best DMS for Small Used Car Operation

Hello all,

Glad I found a site with some knowledgable folks....

I'm a newly licensed dealer, worse yet, I'm new to the industry. So, I've been sifting through a ton of DMS providers found on Google. Hard for me to compare because I'm not 100% sure what I'll be actually needing when the time comes.

Seems to me, I need a small package that is able to integrate inventory, laser document printing, and may be even a website. I don't really forsee anything more than this for the time being.

So far, I've tested DealerClick, and AutoManager. Not blown away by either...

Obviously the expense is one of the most important factors. I don't want to sink thousands of dollars into a DMS if I can't make this business viable, and it turns into a hobby.

I would love some suggestions!

Default Dms

Have you tried AutoTrackerPlus? They offer a free trial (maybe worth looking into).... I have never tried it, but have heard some good things about it and that is maybethe solution for smaller franchise or even BHPH dealers will smaller inventory counts.

Let me know how it all works out!

I sent them an email to find out more. Thanks for the suggestion. I did not see anything on their website in reference to being able to print laser forms, which is vital for me. We'll see what they say...

No, I'm not doing BHPH yet. I'm actually focusing on the brokering side of the business right now, but will soon start to acquire some used car inventory. I'm a one man show!

You owe it to yourself to check out ADP Websuite1000. It is a "tier-one" system that has built in tools to"grow" your business. CRM, Inventory Management etc. It is comparable with lower tier pricing. Call ADP and have them demo the system and ask for reference accounts. If you buy a system just on cost you will have difficulty growing your business. Good Luck and look at all your options!!

Default ADP- or BK?

Cost is a factor if he is just starting out. I mean he cannot go BK trying to get a system that is way out of budget. I have heard the systems such as ADP and R&R are high priced systems... maybe I am wrong but suppose you could look at ADP and the cheaper modles for the best mix.
