Default Ford Figo vs Maruti Suzuki WagonR: Engine, drivablity, overall feel

The WagonR is powered by Marutiís bread-and-butter engine, the K-Series 3-cylinder 998 cc petrol engine which makes 67 bhp and produces 91.7nm of torque. The Ford Figo, on the other hand, has a more powerful 1196 cc, four-cylinder Duratec 70 bhp engine that produces 102nm of torque.
Here, the extra power and the extra cylinder wins it for the Ford Figo. Driving both the cars are very different different experiences. The WagonR is a nimble performer and now feels very mature and fun to drive. The boxy small car feel is all gone in the new WagonR, and now it feels more comfortable and secure.
The Ford Figo has an extra cylinder Ė and the extra power comes to its rescue while overtaking and also every time you want a quick burst for a short sprint. The 1.2 liter engine is rev friendly. Itís a close call in the engine department as both the engine are very responsive.
Fuel efficiency of the Wagon R is 15.5 kmpl, while the Ford Figo returns mileage figures that are slightly lower at 13.5 km/per litre. On bad roads, Figo is the boss as it is heavier and based on a mid-size car platform. The Wagon R on the other hand performs outstandingly during short drives and bumper to bumper traffic conditions. Pot holes are better absorbed in the Figo
