Default Car Maintenance Tasks You Can Do In Your Garage

So you’ve headed down to your local Buick Pontiac GMC dealer and you’ve picked up a new Pontiac car. Maybe you sprung for the upgraded options package, maybe you’ve had a new addition to the family and needed more space quickly, or maybe you’re just frugal. In any case, if you want to save money on the maintenance of your new Pontiac, Buick, or
GMC car, there are a lot of things you can do on your own. Here are some to get you started.

Replace your tires.

Replacing the tires on your new Pontiac, Buick, or GMC car isn’t difficult. You only need your owners’ manual and a few basic tools to do this -- you’ll probably have these tools in your car or garage anyway. This can come in really handy when you’re switching tires for seasonal reasons, or when you’re just rotating them for even wear.

Change your oil.

Changing your oil is a fairly simple process. The only reason most people don’t do it is because disposal is sometimes inconvenient -- this isn’t something you can just pour down the drain. If you’re looking to save a little bit of money, though, you can certainly do it on your own. Just make sure to check with your city or town to find out what the local bylaws are for disposing of the old oil.

Deal with your fluids.

Most of your fluids can be easily accessed on your own. You could take your new Pontiac car back to the dealership’s service center to check and top up your fluids, or you can do it in your own garage. You can check our engine coolant, your windshield washer fluid, you engine oil and more. As long as you’ve got a funnel handy, you can get these dealt with easily and cheaply without even getting out of your pajamas.

If you dont feel comfortable servicing your own vehicle or would like to have a professional check it out, stop by your local Newton Square GMC, Pontiac, and Buick dealer today.
