I just got a 1984 Mercedes 500 SEL, European version (all my buttons are in German, goodness)
There isn't much wrong with it, only has 119k but I think there is a wiring problem possibly because dash lights/radio do not work (but what do I know)
Here is the best part, I can't get to the gas tank (You know, fill up the tank)
Seriously, I can't open the damn thing. It's on the opposite side (thanks Germany) but besides that I understand the whole torque mechanism where you push on one side to open the whole thing, but why is there a bar-in-hole keeping me from opening it? It certainly can't be that hard. I'm filling up a tank for goodness sakes. At this point I'm convinced you have to say a secret code and do a little dance to get it to give. Is there a button? I've pressed just about everyone in the car...
I'm so confused, I'm hopeless
