bad colod staring, rough idle

hello i have a 199 eagle talon tsi, i recently rebuilt the motor and got it running, at first it was just idling rough and so i checked all the vacume line and cam angle, they all seemed fine, but then like a week later when i was driving and the check engine light came on, i checked the engine, temp oil and stuff was all fine, so i kept going. the next day i it didnt start at first, then it took like 3 minutes to start it up and its been doing it ever since, it starts fine when its been warmed up, sooooo, yeah any suggestions?
