The 2008 model year signaled a new version of the Ford Focus. This vehicle has received a tremendous amount of buzz, as it’s been redesigned almost from the ground up. The new Focus has newly styled sheet metal, technological features that are exclusive to the Focus, and refinements to the interior of the vehicle.
Exterior
The outside of the
2008 Ford Focus is attractive to some. However, it’s not the best feature of this vehicle, not by a long shot. Some of the critics of this car suggest that the body styling isn’t especially original or interesting, but some people find it pleasing.
Interior
The inside of the Ford Focus shines, much more so than the outside. Even critics who don’t like the exterior styling agree that the new 2008 Ford Focus inside is much more accommodating and refined that the previous version of the Ford Focus, and than other vehicles in its class. One of the best things about the interior is the optional SYNC multimedia system, which Ford developed alongside Microsoft. This thing is so good that it more than makes up for any other perceived defects in the interior.
Performance
Here again the Ford focus shines. The drive of the
2008 Ford Focus has improved greatly over the earlier version, and the engine has plenty of power. It handles well, at least as good as most others in its class. It’s definitely a fun drive.
Safety
The Ford Focus earned the highest possible rating in frontal offset testing from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). It performed well in government crash testing, as well.
If you’re looking for a good commuter car or a car for a small family, the Ford Focus should definitely be on your list of choices. It’s economical, small, and reasonably priced, and sure to please.
