| | Internet marketing I'm getting plenty of traffic on my lot, but I need to diversify and get into more internet marketing. Any ideas? Also does anyone know of any good subprime lenders that lend up to 100% for borrowers with scores under 600? |

They specialize in S.E.O. and they actually sell their software (rather than lease it). Also, their prices are a lot more reasonable than a lot of the other companies I have seen claiming to do S.E.O. |

| | Internet Marketing Basics This will not be as easy as hiring some company to instantly get more sales from your web site. Most web site providers are not responsible for assuring or trying to get more business from your web site...thats your responsibility.
So how do you take charge, first you have to realize that there are 3 steps to the process of internet marketing.
1) you have to drive the traffic to your web site by advertising, merchandising your web site and business, PPC (pay per click) and referrals. You want to have traffic that is local to your locations, want your product and are able to purchase. Sounds tough, but there are ways to speed this up.
2) once the traffic is at your site, you have to have to maximize the results to get your business improved, they will send you their information or credit application,
3) once they send the information to you, who handles it, how do they handle it and how long do they follow up?
I'll post more specifics in future threads, add your comments, let's get this thread fully developed.

Drive more traffic to your web site.
Include your web site address (url) in everything you mail, print, wear and own. On your business cards, bumper stickers, uniforms,letterhead, email autoresponders, even on the front of your building. Every ad whether it be on the radio, TV or print (newspaper) should have it in there..prominently placed.
Do your people know your URL? Do your existing customers?
What are you doing to educate either of them?
If you rely on walk in traffic alone and do not fully develop your web site you are leaving 50% of your sales on the table for your competition.
Yes, I said 50%!

| | Internet Marketing Basics #2, Does Your Website actually Help You Sell Cars? If the 1st step in your internet marketing plan is , getting traffic to your website, the 2nd concerns what happens to your website visitors once they get there.
Today an automotive website is not a pretty brochure. It is an efficient way for you to sell more cars. The easiest way to look at this is to make a comparision.
If you hire a sales person, you expect them to take ups, log the ups information, try to qualify them, T.O. them to a manager, sell them if possible and follow up with them before and after the sale. What would you do with a salesperson that did not record his ups, did not T.O., did not keep any customer records and did not sell any cars? You'd fire them. Why is your website different?
A Retail new and used vehicle dealer websites goal is to get more customer inquiries and sales. A special finance and BHPH site goal is to get online credit aps submitted.
If your website is not getting and saving your visitor info, is not getting you contacts or credit aps, is not following up with your unsold and sold customers....it is your responsibility to make sure it does, or FIRE IT.
The real cost here is...the sales you are losing because your salesperson (website) is not logging sales ups, not following up and not selling more cars for you. If 90%+ of new car buyers and 75%+ of used car buyers are using the internet today to research their purchase...this lost sale cost is huge.

Your website has to be more than one way information. It has to be interactive with the public. I personally think that it is very important for the public to be able to contact someone straight from the website for a deal. For an example of this goto www.rvmall.com. The site isn't just for RVs it handles all vehicle sales. When you look at a vehicle, you have the option of negotiating online with a salesmen in real time. The negotiation tool they are using is from www.visionsellingsystems.com.
As a web developer I can step away from the dealer side and see what a customer wants to see.
If done correctly your site can be as valueable if not more so than any salesmen.
But this is all done after you have traffic though, in order to get traffic you have to spread the word.
All business cards should have your website url printed on them.
