Try searching on google, people tend to post on other forums and guides for doing this kind of thing.

I'm looking free advice. Every where I search for my question there is a charge. If I was looking for a charge, I would have my in-laws just take their Volvo to a repair shop that will charge them an arm and a leg.

My husband is trying to just change the ac clutch on the condenser. But doesn't know for sure how too. He doesn't want to change the ac condenser, because then the system has to be recharged and the in- laws, who are disabled senior citizens, can not afford that cost.

That's why they as asking my husband to PLEASE FIX. Any VOLVO books that the in-laws or my husband has, just says take it to an ac repair shop. Isn't there any one out there who can give my husband FREE advice to help the in-laws out.

Any VETS out there who can help a fellow VET with FREE information. Father-in-law disabled, thanks to Vietnam, exposed to agent Orange. Needs this car to get to constant VA hospitals for treatment.

you can e-mail me at dfcar@hotmail.com. to do the job right you need the clutch tools to remove and install the clutch assembly. You might be able to borrow them from a parts store that rents tools. You might be able to make something to remove the clutch. You have to hold the plate and remove the nut. There are shims that must be reinstalled. Plate comes off with a puller, maybe you can pry it off, shims should be underneath. Snapring holds the bearing. You nee the puller to reinstall and would risk damaging compressor if you try to tap it on.
