    Volvo C30 Interior

Perhaps comparing it to the most famous hatchback of all time is unfair. In actuality the C30 is really a great car that does lots of things right and most importantly adheres to the tried and true Volvo way of doing things. Especially, for those that value Volvo’s reputation for safety and reliability the C30 scores well with consumers and critics by offering the prerequisite standard safety equipment that includes antilock disc brakes (with brake assist), stability control, traction control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and front seats with whiplash protection. Volvo’s Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) is optional.

The Volvo C30 is a small car produced by Volvo Cars. The C30 is a three-door, four-seat hatchback powered by straight-4 and straight-5 engines. The car is a hatchback version of the S40/V50/C70 range, and uses the same Ford C1 (or Volvo P1) platform. It is being marketed as a premium hatchback or sports coupe specially designed for first-time Volvo buyers and the youth market. Production is expected to be 65,000 units a year, 75% for sale in the European market. The production car was officially unveiled at the 2006 Paris Motor Show.

The Volvo C30 is based on the same platform as the S40 and the V50. A key difference though is that the C30 is 8.8 inches shorter giving a firm and agile ride. This is most likely the best handling car in the Volvo line up. With the standard six speed transmission the C30 this mean machine can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 6.2 seconds. While the automatic transmission gets there in a bit slower, but not too shabby, 6.6 seconds. Fulfilling Volvo's goal to provide a sporty, agile car for the younger generation.
The EPA guidelines estimate that you will get 19 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. The average driver can expect between 22 -24 MPG. The peppy turbocharged engine, though, is quite a temptation and will probably make it difficult to keep on the upper side of the estimate.
