Default Getting your Mercedes Ready for Winter

Your Flemington-area Mercedes dealer wants to make sure you’re bundled up for the cold weather, and that your Mercedes is, too.

You’re not going to go outside in the blistering snow without a coat and gloves, and probably a scarf, hat and boots, too. In the same respect, you shouldn’t ask your Mercedes to venture out in the cold, snow and ice without being properly prepared for the winter weather.

There are a few things you can do to get your Mercedes ready for winter. First of all, you need to pay attention to our tires. In our area, you need to have snow tires during the winter months, or at least all-season tires. Snow tires should only be used during the winter, though, as they tend to break down from the heat of the road during the summer.

You also need to keep an eye on your antifreeze during the winter. Your antifreeze keeps your engine running smooth and warm even when it’s cold outside. Too little antifreeze or the wrong mix of antifreeze can cause serious problems with the way your Mercedes runs.

Your battery is also an important part of your Mercedes’ operation in the winter. Your battery is vulnerable in the cold, and it has a reduced capacity. Your cables and terminals need to be in top shape before winter starts.
